Amritsar, Nov 7: Security agencies across Punjab have intensified monitoring protocols following the recovery of specialized submachine guns allegedly transported across the international border into the state.

Border Range Inspector General of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar affirmed that law enforcement authorities secured the consignment during a targeted operation, preventing potential disruptions to public order.

Investigating officers stated that initial questioning of the three individuals detained in connection with the case—identified as residents of Kot Khalsa—revealed directions to retain the arms until further instructions were issued from across the border.

Official records indicate that an FIR has been registered at the Gharinda police station under provisions of the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act to examine procurement channels and associated communications.

Senior officials maintained that preventive security measures remain active throughout the region to maintain law and order and ensure public safety ahead of upcoming administrative events.
