Ludhiana, August 8: Central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party has directed Punjab state unit chief Kewal Dhillon and state organizing secretary Mantri Srinivasulu to report to New Delhi for immediate consultations today.
The high-level call comes closely on the heels of a high-profile meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, signaling potential tactical realignments in the state’s political arena.

Upon receiving the directive, both state leaders departed for the national capital mid-session from Ludhiana, where they were presiding over organizational meetings with newly appointed state body members and district presidents. A subsequent scheduled conference regarding state issues in Ludhiana was also paused following their departure.
Party insiders asserted that national leader Nitin Nabin is likely to review the growing internal friction arising from the recent organizational restructuring. Discontent within regional cadres came to a head recently when senior leader and former minister Tikshan Sood stepped down alongside his supporters in protest against executive appointments.
Political observers further declared that the discussions under central leadership may serve as a follow-up to initial electoral strategy sessions previously conducted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to chart out upcoming poll roadmaps for Punjab.
