Chandigarh, August 9: Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Media Incharge Baltej Pannu stated that the Shiromani Akali Dal and its chief Sukhbir Singh Badal have compromised their political position for political gains and are actively seeking an understanding with the Central leadership. Speaking in Chandigarh, the media head maintained that shifting public positions on key legislation have eroded the political standing of the Akali leadership.
The AAP spokesperson asserted that recent political statements contrast sharply with earlier public declarations regarding Central legislative matters. He declared that during the initial introduction of the farm laws, the Badal family voiced support for the measures, only altering their position following widespread public reactions across the region.
Addressing current political dynamics, the party official affirmed that the Akali leadership is making efforts to establish common ground with the Bharatiya Janata Party to rebuild its political base. He recalled previous remarks made by the Akali chief regarding leaders joining the BJP, noting that changing political stances reflect convenience rather than long-held principles.
The ruling party representative maintained that the public remains observant of political shifts and U-turns. He asserted that the electorate in Punjab distinguishes clearly between consistent political positions and changing alliances.
