Amritsar, August 13: In an operational success against illegal supply channels, Punjab Police dismantled two cross-border networks with the arrest of five individuals in Amritsar. Law enforcement teams recovered seven illegal pistols and two kilograms of heroin during targeted operations conducted across local police jurisdictions.
Initial investigative findings indicate that the apprehended individuals maintained communications with overseas operators to procure contraband for regional distribution. Two separate cases have been formally registered at the Islamabad and Sultanwind police stations in connection with the recoveries.
“Specialized teams are conducting thorough follow-up investigations to map all backward and forward operational linkages,” Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated while detailing the law enforcement action.
The state administration has consistently reinforced security measures across border districts to curb illegal trafficking and maintain public safety. Further investigations remain underway to identify additional associates involved in the network.
