NEW DELHI, AUGUST 27: A 21-year-old Delhi University student was stabbed to death inside her West Delhi home on Wednesday evening, with police launching an extensive manhunt for an acquaintance suspected of committing the murder out of personal enmity. The deceased, identified as Muskan, was a second-year undergraduate student enrolled at the university’s School of Open Learning.
Police forces have deployed approximately 15 specialized teams to locate and apprehend the suspect, identified as Imran, a former gym trainer who resides in the neighboring locality. Authorities stated that the suspect had grown increasingly hostile toward the victim over recent weeks regarding her personal interactions with another individual.
Emergency responders received the initial alert after family members were notified of the incident by their domestic help.
“A PCR call regarding the stabbing of a girl was received at Tilak Nagar Police Station at 7:24 pm. A murder case has been registered based on the statement of the deceased’s brother, and an investigation is underway. The victim’s brother stated that his sister knew a boy named Aqib alias Imran, who resides in the nearby area,” declared Deputy Commissioner of Police Hareshwar V Swami.
Investigative findings indicate that the suspect entered the victim’s second-floor residence around 5:40 pm while she was alone, leading to a confrontation during which he allegedly attacked her with a knife before fleeing the scene. Doctors declared the victim dead upon arrival at a local hospital, and forensic teams have conducted a complete site inspection to process key physical evidence.
