Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Spokesperson Ranbir Singh Dhindsa launched a sharp attack on Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal over his repeated failure to appear before the Special Investigation Team in connection with the sacrilege, Behbal Kalan, and Kotkapura firing cases. Addressing a press conference alongside Mora Singh Anjaan and Ripandeep Singh, the AAP leader maintained that the alleged Akali Dal-BJP nexus stands completely exposed before the public.
Dhindsa stated that Sukhbir Badal, who had previously accepted responsibility before Sri Akal Takht Sahib, cannot now evade the SIT or escape accountability for the Kotkapura firing incident. He asserted that Faridkot court records and Badal’s own writ petition show that, as the then Home Minister, he was staying in a five-star hotel and remaining in continuous communication with senior police officials during the firing incident.
Raising direct questions, the AAP spokesperson inquired why Badal was hesitating to speak the truth before the investigating authorities when he had already accepted guilt before the highest temporal seat of Sikhism. Dhindsa declared that Badal’s reluctance to appear stems from an political understanding with Delhi leaders to secure protection in the sacrilege cases in exchange for compromising Punjab’s interests on farm issues.
Calling upon the people of Punjab to stay vigilant, Dhindsa affirmed that the Akali Dal leadership is endangering state interests solely to protect family political motives. He added that the underlying alignment between SAD and BJP was never genuinely broken, pointing to past voting choices in Parliament as evidence of their ongoing cooperation.
