NEW DELHI, SEPT 11: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of eight judicial officers from the national capital to serve as judges of the Delhi High Court. The recommendation was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Thursday.
The judicial officers recommended for appointment to the Delhi High Court are Gurvinder Pal Singh, Nivedita Anil Sharma, Nisha Sahay Saxena, Sanjay Sharma-I, Bharat Parashar, Aditi Choudhary, Dinesh Bhatt, and Arun Bhardwaj.
In addition to the Delhi appointments, the Collegium approved proposals to bolster the judiciary across several state High Courts. Judicial officer Yash Paul Bourney was recommended for appointment as a judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Collegium further cleared the names of Manoj Prasad, Akhil Kumar, and Ram Sharma for elevation to the Jharkhand High Court. Simultaneously, judicial officers Usharani, K S Bharath Kumar, and Nerale Veerabhadraiah Bhavani were recommended to serve as judges of the Karnataka High Court.
