Amritsar, Sept 20: Law enforcement authorities have initiated coordinated raids across key locations to locate the second suspect involved in the fatal shooting of Assistant Sub-Inspector Harjit Singh, following an exchange of fire in the Islamabad area late Saturday night.
The fleeing individual, also belonging to Mulechak village, managed to evade capture after his accomplice, Deepak Singh, sustained gunshot wounds during a confrontation with police checkpoints. Investigators revealed that Deepak Singh was facing previous drug-related charges and was currently out on bail, with digital evidence under forensic examination to determine potential cross-border connections.
Specialised police operational units have formed multiple search teams to trace the suspect’s escape route, utilizing electronic surveillance and ground intelligence gathered during ongoing field operations across the district.
