JALANDHAR, SEPT 30: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jalandhar on Wednesday to address a mega anti-drug rally, reaffirming the Bharatiya Janata Party’s commitment to eradicating substance abuse and making Punjab “chitta-free” by the end of 2029.
Upon landing at Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj Adampur Airport, the Union Minister traveled by helicopter to the LR Doaba School grounds adjacent to Shri Devi Talab Mandir. Prior to reaching the main rally venue, Shah paid obeisance at the historic 200-year-old Tripurmalini Shakti Peetha shrine situated within the temple complex.
Party leaders maintained that the visit marks a significant milestone for the campaign, which saw four separate yatras traverse nearly 4,000 kilometers across all 117 assembly constituencies in Punjab over 13 days to raise public awareness against narcotics.
Senior office-bearers affirmed that the state-wide initiative culminates in Jalandhar, where thousands of supporters gathered to hear the Union Minister lay out the party’s strategic roadmap for complete drug eradication and regional progress.
