New Delhi, Oct 5: Passengers flying with IndiGo will face higher airfares starting tomorrow as the airline implements a fresh revision to its fuel surcharges across both domestic and international operations.
The carrier announced that domestic passenger charges will now range from ₹375 up to ₹1,300, depending on the distance traveled. On international sectors, the fuel surcharge has been revised upwards to between ₹1,000 and ₹10,000, with long-haul European routes reflecting the highest bracket. IndiGo attributed the pricing adjustment to volatile global markets and a recent month-on-month increase of over 14% in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) costs.
The decision marks the third fuel surcharge recalibration by the airline within six months as operating expenses remain under pressure. Airline officials expressed regret over the additional financial strain on passengers but maintained that the measured increase was necessary to manage unprecedented jet fuel price inflation.
