Noida, Oct 9: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a proposal to name the newly operational Noida International Airport at Jewar after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the decision on Friday, affirming that the Council of Ministers expressed its deep gratitude to the Prime Minister for bringing the major infrastructure project to fruition in the state.

The naming decision reflects the state administration’s recognition of central support in establishing the modern aviation facility.

The greenfield transit hub commenced operations following its formal inauguration by the Prime Minister on March 28, marking a milestone in regional connectivity. Air travel services expanded further on June 15 when commercial flight operations began with the arrival of its inaugural IndiGo service.

State leadership maintained that the facility is positioned to develop into one of the country’s prominent transport centers and a major driver of economic growth across northern India.
