Chandigarh, Oct 9: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann forcefully dismissed the Central Bureau of Investigation raid at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, characterizing the action as the political launch of the opponent’s campaign in the state ahead of upcoming assembly elections. Speaking at a press conference in Chandigarh, Mann asserted that central law enforcement agencies were being deployed to create fear and tarnish his administration’s public image. He maintained that similar investigative tactics previously failed to alter political outcomes in Delhi, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh.
Reiterating his government’s commitment to clean administration, the Chief Minister affirmed that investigators would find no financial irregularities or evidence of corruption. Mann stated that his administration remains focused on public service, employment generation, and state progress, contrasting his leadership style with previous political regimes that faced scrutiny over corporate holdings and large-scale financial scandals.
