Jalandhar, 03 November 2024: The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, led by Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, achieved a remarkable milestone in effective policing by apprehending the main accused in the Khingra Gate shooting incident within just 12 hours of the crime.
Commissioner Sharma provided details about the incident, which occurred at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday due to a dispute in the Khingra Gate area.
The shooting resulted in the death of Rishabh Badshah from a bullet wound, while Eshu Kumar sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
In response to the incident, police registered case number 122 dated November 3, 2024, under various sections of the Arms Act at Police Station Division 3 in Jalandhar.
During the investigation, the police arrested several individuals, including Sahil Kapoor alias Mannu Kapoor Dhillu, son of Rakesh Kapoor, a resident of ED-74 Khingra Gate; Sajan Sahota from Kishanpura; Manav from Bhai Ditt Singh Nagar; Nannu Kapoor, also son of Rakesh Kapoor; Dr. Kohli; Chakshat Randhawa; Gaggi; Kaka Chacha; and several unknown persons.
The main accused, Sahil Kapoor, was arrested with a country-made pistol and two empty shells, with five criminal cases already pending against him.
Commissioner Sharma confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the incident.
