New Delhi, Nov 5: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has been declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, completing the parliamentary election process for the seat. The declaration followed the conclusion of the nomination scrutiny phase by the returning officer.
During the final day reserved for the scrutiny of nomination papers, the candidatures of two other contestants, Kante Sayanna and Rajkumar Lohani, were rejected upon evaluation. The disqualification of their documentation left the Union Minister as the sole validly nominated candidate in the fray.
Election officials subsequently issued the formal certificate confirming the uncontested return to the Upper House of Parliament, marking another successful parliamentary entry for the senior leader.
