Ayodhya, Nov 6: Ayodhya is preparing to illuminate the city with 30 lakh diyas as part of the Deepotsav 2026 celebrations, alongside major tourism upgrades at Ram Ki Paidi along the Saryu riverfront. Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh maintained that the enhanced premises, developed under Phase 2 by the Shri Ayodhya Ji Teerth Vikas Parishad at a cost of approximately Rs 23.68 crore, will offer a significantly improved experience for visiting pilgrims and tourists.
The newly developed facilities feature an open-air theatre, a cultural stage, an entrance gate, stone chhatris, stone Jyoti Deep installations, and a viewing gallery. Minister Jaiveer Singh affirmed that these infrastructure additions, including a mural wall and dedicated selfie points, will serve cultural gatherings during Deepotsav while continuing to benefit visitors throughout the entire year.
Additional Chief Secretary and Director General of Tourism Amrit Abhijat declared that the development aims to connect visitors with Ayodhya’s spiritual heritage and the natural charm of the Saryu riverfront. He maintained that the combination of green spaces, stone latticework, and improved tourist signposting ensures both aesthetic appeal and practical convenience for the rising influx of devotees.
