Bathinda, 10 January 2025: The Bathinda police have successfully solved the brutal double murder of an elderly couple from Badiyala village.
Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal confirmed that the crime was committed by the victim’s younger brother, identified as the accused in the case.
SSP Kondal explained that a longstanding land dispute between the accused and the victims led to the tragedy.
“The accused first murdered his sister-in-law, 62-year-old Amarjeet Kaur, and hid inside the house,” she said.
“When the elder brother, 66-year-old Giyas Singh, returned home after fetching milk, he too fell victim to the brutal attack.”
The accused has been arrested by the police. SSP Kondal stated that the authorities will present the suspect in court to secure his remand as the investigation continues.
“We are working on gathering further documentation and evidence to strengthen the case,” she added.
