CM Vows Stern Action in Ambedkar Statue Vandalism Case

Chandigarh, January 27 –Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann pledged strict action against the individual involved in an attempt to damage the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Amritsar’s heritage street on Sunday.

Terming the incident as deeply unfortunate, Mann said it had hurt the sentiments of those who revere Ambedkar, the chief architect of India’s Constitution.

He urged the public to remain calm, assuring that the culprits will face exemplary punishment.

“No one will be allowed to disrupt Punjab’s hard-earned peace. Attempts by anti-Punjab forces to create communal tension will be swiftly thwarted,” the Chief Minister stated.

Mann stressed the government’s vigilance in countering anti-social and anti-national elements.

Besides, he appealed for public support in fostering communal harmony and preserving peace across the state.
