CHANDIGARH, 28 February 2025– The Punjab Housing Department has extended the deadline for registering plots without No Objection Certificates (NOCs) by six months, following reports of delays, officials said Friday.
The initial three-month waiver period, which began on December 1, 2024, ended on February 28, 2025. Housing Secretary Rahul Tewari mentioned that the extension was granted in response to multiple representations and in the public interest.
The waiver falls under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2024, and applies to properties in areas governed by the Urban Housing and Local Bodies Departments.
Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Anurag Verma had recently cautioned deputy commissioners against delays or corruption in the registration process, despite a government notification issued in November.
