Chandigarh, May 13: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has leveled serious allegations against the BJP, claiming a reported firing incident at the residence of Diljit Dosanjh’s manager was an attempt to coerce the singer into joining the saffron party. While Haryana authorities have denied that any shooting occurred at the Karnal home of manager Gurpartap Singh Kang, AAP leadership in Punjab maintained that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the act.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the central government is utilizing criminal elements to target individuals who resist their political overtures. He affirmed that the gang operates with a sense of impunity because its leadership remains shielded from rigorous interrogation while in custody.

“The moment Diljit Dosanjh made it clear he wants nothing to do with the BJP, his manager was targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang,” Cheema declared. He further asserted that the gang is being held in a manner that allows them to continue intimidating Punjabis who refuse to align with the BJP.

Other cabinet members, including Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Hardeep Singh Mundian, joined the criticism, noting that the incident followed a public appeal for Dosanjh to enter the political arena. They maintained that the sequence of events points toward a calculated effort to silence influential voices from the state.

The controversy stems from a recent appeal by a citizens’ group, Jaago Punjab Manch, which suggested Dosanjh should take a leadership role in state politics. AAP leaders stated that the rejection of this purported political offer triggered the alleged intimidation tactics.
