Mohali, May 13: Rayat Bahra University’s Entrepreneurship and Startup Support Cell recently hosted “The Idea Carnival 2026,” a collaborative initiative with Startup Punjab aimed at fostering a culture of innovation among students. The event, held at the Mohali campus, showcased a diverse array of business models and prototypes designed by students from RBU and its affiliated institutions to tackle modern industrial challenges.

Deepinder Dhillon, Joint Director of IT Industry Promotion at Startup Punjab, served as the chief guest and provided detailed information regarding government funding and incubation programs available to young entrepreneurs. University Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra affirmed that the institution’s primary goal is to inspire students to transition from job seekers to job creators, noting that even the simplest concepts can lead to significant future transformations.

The carnival featured a “Mega Business Idea Competition,” where budding entrepreneurs pitched their startup models to a panel of industry experts, including Arvind Dhingra, Executive Director of STEP GNDEC Ludhiana. Organizers stated that the sessions were designed to provide students with a platform for professional feedback and networking.

The program concluded with a formal ceremony where winners and participants received mementos and certificates for their contributions. Dr. Simmi Prakash, Group Director of the ESSC, maintained that the success of the carnival reflects the growing entrepreneurial spirit within the student body across Rayat Bahra’s various educational wings.
