Chandigarh, May 10: The Aam Aadmi Party maintained Saturday that the Enforcement Directorate’s recent actions against Minister Sanjeev Arora are entirely driven by political motives. Party representatives stated that the central government utilizes investigative agencies to silence the opposition whenever the Bharatiya Janata Party faces potential electoral losses.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema affirmed that the raids represent an attempt to manipulate the political landscape in Punjab similar to tactics used in other states. Cheema declared that the move is an assault on the dignity of 3 million Punjabis rather than an isolated legal proceeding against one individual. He asserted that the BJP’s primary objective remains the elimination of opposition parties through the misuse of constitutional institutions.

Cabinet Minister Aman Arora noted that this marks the third time the agency has searched Sanjeev Arora’s residence within a single year. He asserted that the frequency of these actions proves they are intended to intimidate rather than investigate. Arora maintained that the spirit of Punjab cannot be broken by such tactics, comparing the current political pressure to historical challenges faced by the region.

Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and leader Deepak Bali stated that despite repeated searches, authorities have recovered nothing of significance. They maintained that the alliance between the central government and the Enforcement Directorate threatens democratic norms. The party affirmed its commitment to the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, stating that no amount of pressure will force its members to concede.
