Kalanaur, 12 February 2025: Nirmal Singh, younger brother of Aam Aadmi Party Sarpanch Gurvinder Singh, was shot dead in broad daylight on Sahle Chak Road near Kalanaur due to an old enmity, according to Police.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the attack, with SP Jugraj Singh and SHO Kalanaur Sahil Pathania leading the investigation.
The assailants shot Singh in the chest while he was riding his moped.
He was rushed to the Community Health Center in Kalanaur, where doctors declared him dead.
Sarpanch Gurvinder Singh linked the attack to a recent dispute over a panchayat street construction in Sahur Khurd, saying he had been receiving threats since the altercation. He has demanded justice and strict action against the killers.
SP Jugraj Singh assured that the police are investigating and will take strict action against those responsible.
