Chandigarh June 19: An Aam Aadmi Party delegation met Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav to demand the immediate arrest of the masterminds behind a fabricated video targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The party leaders presented two separate investigative reports to the police chief, seeking stringent legal action against those responsible for creating, funding, and spreading the content online. The delegation included senior leadership, notably Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, State President Aman Arora, and State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu.

The ruling party described the clip as a calculated attempt by political opponents to disturb the peace, stability, and communal harmony of the state. Leaders stated that the opposition is struggling to counter the transparent governance and clean public image maintained by the current administration.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema asserted that the fabrication of digital content represents a new low in regional politics.

“Akali Gang is baffled by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s clean image, resorting to fake videos to defame him,” the Minister declared.

He maintained that the administration would not tolerate any attempts to undermine the Chief Minister’s standing through malicious campaigns.

The Minister noted that previous administrations historically failed to protect the interests of the public, pointing to historical incidents of sacrilege and subsequent unrest in 1986 and 2015. He stated that past regimes routinely suppressed judicial commission reports to protect influential individuals. He assured the public that the Punjab Police would track down all conspirators involved in this latest digital fabrication, whether they are operating within the country or from international locations, to preserve law and order.
