AMRITSAR, September 2: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police executed a morning search operation across several localities in the Central subdivision on Wednesday to assess local security and deter illicit activities. Around 150 police personnel, including special commando units, participated in the exercise across areas including Anngarh, Valmiki Mohalla, and Shekha Bazaar.
Supervised by DCP Law and Order Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu alongside ADCP City-I Yogeshwar Singh and ACP Central Surinder Singh, law enforcement teams established perimeter checks to conduct document verification for local commuters and vehicle owners. During the checks, authorities rounded up 11 individuals for verification and impounded several vehicles lacking proper documentation. Personnel also conducted spot inspections at premises associated with previous records as part of routine field monitoring.
DCP Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu affirmed that police presence will remain active across vulnerable pockets to maintain public safety and curb illegal trade networks. Officers interacted with local residents during the drive, encouraging community cooperation and assuring that all citizen reports remain strictly confidential.
