Sonepat, 22 Nov. 24: Workers and farmers at Kharkhoda grain market now have access to affordable meals through the newly launched Atal Canteen. Inaugurated by MLA Pawan Kharkhoda on Thursday, the canteen provides homemade-style meals at just ₹10, aiming to support those working in the market.
The meal includes four rotis, two vegetable dishes, and rice, while lassi is available at additional fixed prices. The canteen is entirely operated by women, who ensure the food is nutritious and prepared with a touch of homely care.
On the first day, 450 people were served, with MLA Kharkhoda dining alongside farmers and workers to experience the initiative firsthand. The project has been praised as a positive step towards improving welfare in the region.
