Karnal, November 22, 2024: The body of a 23-year-old man was discovered hanging from a tree on the Nagla Mega-Amritpur road in Karnal district under suspicious circumstances, sparking allegations of foul play from the victim’s family.
The deceased, identified as Manish, son of Kehar Singh from Mohdinpur village, was found with his mobile phone and shoes lying beneath the tree. Police suspect suicide based on preliminary observations. However, Manish’s family alleges he was murdered.
The family claims Manish was beaten, then hanged, asserting that he could not have climbed the tree due to an iron rod in his leg. “It was his birthday yesterday, and my son’s sister’s wedding is just days away. This is no suicide,” a family member stated.
Authorities removed the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death and address the family’s allegations.
