Patna/Thane, January 18, 2025: A 34-year-old man from Bihar died after jumping from a railway overbridge at Thane station early Thursday morning, confirmed railway police.
The deceased, identified as Rajan Saha from Kamalpura in Muzaffarpur, had recently left home, informing his family he was heading to Goa in search of work.
His family presumed him to be in Goa until news of his death emerged on Friday. Saha’s brother, employed as a mason in Wada, was also unaware of his arrival in Mumbai, police said.
Authorities revealed that Saha waited for the last local train to leave before climbing the railing of the bridge near platform 10 and leaping onto the tracks.
He sustained critical injuries from the fall and succumbed later.
The Thane railway police have registered an accidental death case and plan to question his family to investigate further, if needed
