BJP Celebrates Malhotra’s Re-election as Chandigarh Unit Chief

Chandigarh, 17 January 2025: The BJP hosted a grand celebration at its Kamalam office in Sector 33, Chandigarh, on Thursday to mark Jatinder Pal Malhotra’s re-election as the party’s Chandigarh unit president. Malhotra, 60, secured his second term during the party’s organisational elections held on Wednesday.

The election, overseen by BJP national vice-president Saudan Singh and Punjab MLA Ashwani Sharma as national observer for Chandigarh Organisation Parv, also saw senior party leader Sanjay Tandon and former MP Kirron Kher elected as National Council members. Dr. Narinder Singh Raina, a Jammu and Kashmir MLA and BJP national secretary, served as the returning officer for the election.

Following the election, a celebratory roadshow was organised to honour Malhotra. Addressing party workers, Malhotra said, “This responsibility is an honour for me. Our goal is to take the party’s policies to every household while ensuring the welfare of the people of Chandigarh. Strengthening the organisation remains our priority.”

Saudan Singh commended the re-elected president, stating, “The ever-growing popularity of the BJP in Chandigarh stems from the dedication of our workers and the strength of our organisation. Malhotra’s leadership will further solidify the party’s presence here.”

Dr. Narinder Singh Raina added, “This election was conducted to enhance the party’s organisational structure and prepare for future challenges. We are confident Malhotra will take the BJP to new heights in Chandigarh.”

During the event, leaders discussed strategies for upcoming elections, reaffirming their commitment to expanding the party’s influence and enhancing its performance. Former party presidents, senior workers, and other notable figures were present to show their support.
