Tarn Taran, October 12, 2024: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel seized 13,160 kg of heroin from Kalas village in Tarn Taran, preventing the consignment from falling into the hands of drug smugglers.

According to BSF, the heroin, packed in six bottles wrapped with yellow tape, was reportedly sent from Pakistan via a drone.

Authorities believe the drugs were smuggled across the border by a gang operating in the region. Security agencies are currently investigating the source and network behind the consignment.

In a related operation, BSF jawans also recovered a Pakistani drone from fields near Nowshera village. The makeshift drone was believed to have been used by smugglers to transport the drugs into Indian territory. A malfunction caused it to crash, and BSF personnel quickly secured the device.

The investigation into the cross-border drug smuggling is ongoing.
