New Delhi, May 14: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday criticized the Union government regarding the NEET paper leak, characterizing the incident as a massive fraud that has ruined the careers of millions of aspirants. Speaking in New Delhi, the Chief Minister maintained that the recurring failures in the national examination system represent a significant administrative collapse by the Centre, which has crushed the hopes of students who worked tirelessly to secure their futures.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister asserted that the Union government was responsible for ensuring a fair and transparent process. He stated that the paper leak has left aspirants in a state of deep shock and has hindered their potential to transform their lives through education. “Lakhs of hopes have been ruined due to this paper leak. The Centre should have ensured free and fair conduct of the examination, which could have transformed the destiny of millions of students,” Mann affirmed.
The Chief Minister also addressed recent reports concerning Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh, claiming that the singer is being targeted because he declined an offer to enter the political arena. Mann noted that following the political success of artists in other regions, there were attempts to recruit Dosanjh. He maintained that since the singer refused, a campaign of intimidation has been directed toward him. “Attacking his manager’s house reflects this politics of threat,” the Chief Minister stated, calling the tactics unfair and unfortunate.
Looking ahead to the Punjab elections, Mann declared that the Aam Aadmi Party would seek a mandate based on the vision of “Rangla Punjab.” He noted that the government’s focus remains on pro-people initiatives, including free electricity for 90 percent of households and substantial cashless medical treatment. The Chief Minister maintained that honest governance and development-oriented policies would lead the party back to power with a significant mandate.
