Chandigarh, 13 February 2025: Chandigarh Police launched a city-wide crackdown on Wednesday against immigration firms operating without authorization, arresting several individuals and seizing incriminating materials, including passports, cash, and electronic devices.
Officials said multiple FIRs were registered across various police stations following raids on illegal immigration offices. At Satyam Immigration Services in Maloya, police recovered 60 passports, a CPU, and ₹2.6 lakh in cash.
A case was registered against Rajveer Singh and Satyam Bhatnagar, with Singh taken into custody while investigations continue.
Sector 3 police reported two cases. Anu Thakur, owner of M/s Milestone Immigration Company in Sector 8-C, was arrested for allegedly promoting unauthorized Dubai visas through Instagram.
Police seized her mobile phone as evidence. In another case, Alka Thakur, owner of M/s Greenland Overseas Consultancy in the same sector, was booked for employing staff without police verification. She was also arrested.
An FIR was lodged at the Sector 19 police station against Harshdeep, owner of Calgiri Overseas in Sector 20. Police seized a laptop and an entry register from his office.
He was arrested and remains under investigation.
Meanwhile, Sector 31 police arrested Rupinder and Mohd Arif for running an unauthorized immigration business.
Officials seized stamps, PAN cards, and other documents from them. Both were later released on bail.
Police said the crackdown would continue, targeting firms violating immigration laws.
