Dhuri, March 18: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday inaugurated a 50-bedded Sub-Divisional Hospital and a 30-bedded Mother and Child Hospital in Dhuri, marking a major expansion of healthcare infrastructure in the Sangrur district. The Chief Minister affirmed that the project reflects a firm commitment to building a patient-centric healthcare system by strengthening medical services and improving the availability of skilled professionals. The new facilities are expected to benefit thousands of residents from Dhuri and nearly 70 neighboring villages.
While addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that the state-of-the-art building, constructed at a cost of ₹21.65 crore, will significantly bolster secondary-level healthcare services. He maintained that the hospital complex features modern diagnostic facilities, including ECG, ultrasound, and X-ray rooms, alongside seven operation theaters for both major and minor surgeries. The Chief Minister asserted that the upgraded infrastructure will allow doctors to handle emergency cases and critically ill patients with much greater efficiency.
The Chief Minister stated that the dedicated Mother and Child block will ensure specialized care for newborns and mothers, offering both normal and cesarean delivery services free of cost. He affirmed that the recruitment of over 1,500 doctors, including 600 specialists, has significantly improved the availability of medical experts across government institutions. Mann maintained that the government has also enhanced the procurement of free medicines and modern equipment to ensure no family is deprived of quality treatment.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann further declared that through the Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojana, the state is providing health coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family annually. He asserted that the expansion of the Aam Aadmi Clinic network and the strengthening of secondary healthcare facilities are bringing essential services closer to every community. The Chief Minister maintained that the government remains dedicated to ensuring that quality healthcare reaches every citizen of Punjab without financial hardship.
