CM Urges Teachers to Pioneer Education Revolution

Chandigarh, 13 December 2024: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann called on teachers trained in Finland to lead Punjab’s education reform during an interaction held to welcome them back.

The Chief Minister accentuated the critical role of teachers in shaping the nation’s future and encouraged them to utilize their training to elevate the standards of government schools.

He termed the teachers as “the heritage of the state and the country,” with a mission to make government school students competitive with their peers in convent schools.

Mann stated that education forms the backbone of society and stressed his government’s commitment to improving it. For the first time, 72 primary teachers from Punjab received professional training in Finland, a country renowned for its world-class education system. This initiative, according to Mann, signifies a new milestone in Punjab’s education history.

The Chief Minister noted that this effort aimed at equipping teachers with advanced teaching methods and leadership skills. He pledged to provide platforms for these teachers to share knowledge with colleagues, fostering continuous improvement in the education sector.

Finland, regarded as having the most effective education system globally, was chosen as the training destination to expose teachers to innovative educational practices. Mann expressed optimism that their learnings would shape the future of Punjab’s students and create a lasting impact on the socio-economic development of the state.

Education Minister Harjot Bains announced plans to inspire students through exposure to cutting-edge technology. He revealed that students will visit premier institutions like the Indian Institute of Science and the Google headquarters. This initiative aims to expand their knowledge and aspirations, aligning with the government’s efforts to modernize education.

The Chief Minister described the event as a landmark moment, pledging to continue investing in professional development programs that elevate teaching standards across Punjab.
