Amritsar, Jan 15: After Ferozpur seizure, Counter Intelligence Amritsar intercepted an inter-district smuggling ring, recovering 40 kilograms of heroin. The intelligence-led operation resulted in the arrest of four men from the Kot Isse Khan village in Moga district, identified as Jacob Masih, Narinder Singh, Suraj, and Ajay Kumar.
The raid was executed following credible information regarding a massive movement of contraband through the region. Officials mentioned that the team successfully tracked and intercepted the suspects before the shipment could be dispersed.
“Police officials are now tracing the entire supply chain, including both backward and forward linkages,” a department spokesperson said during the briefing.
Authorities noted that the investigation is now focused on identifying the kingpin behind the operation, as preliminary questioning suggests the group was acting on the orders of a habitual narco-smuggler. An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) station in Amritsar.
