DARPG Delegation Assesses Haryana’s Citizen Services

Chandigarh, 28 Dec. 24: A delegation led by V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Central Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), visited several offices in Haryana to assess the implementation of the Right to Services Act. The team, which included Joint Secretary Sarita Chauhan, Director Suvashis Das, and Deputy Secretary H.K. Bhatt, reviewed how various government agencies are delivering services to citizens.

The delegation specifically focused on the Haryana Urban Development Authority, Haryana DISCOM, and the Antyodaya Saral Call Centre, where they evaluated service delivery procedures and interacted with citizens via video conferencing.

Under the leadership of Chief Commissioner T.C. Gupta, the Haryana Right to Services Commission has made significant strides in improving service efficiency. Key initiatives include the digitization of 801 notified services, integration with call centers, and the introduction of auto appeal systems to ensure timely redressal of grievances. Additionally, service time limits are prominently displayed in all offices to enhance transparency.

Srinivas and his team also shared information on the Central Government’s CPGRM programme, which has proven effective in addressing public grievances within central government offices. The delegation noted the success of this initiative and assured support, including financial assistance for training Grievance Redressal Officers in Haryana.

The delegation’s visit concluded with meetings with Haryana’s Chief Secretary and Chief Minister. Srinivas briefed them on the Prime Minister’s new initiatives and emphasized their importance for Haryana, offering full support for their implementation in the state.
