Udaipur, AUGUST 27: Udaipur police have launched an investigation into an alleged hospitality fraud involving a Delhi family that departed The Oberoi Udaivilas after a ten-day luxury stay, leaving behind an unpaid bill of ₹5.74 lakh. Authorities registered a formal complaint following a dispute at checkout over payment responsibilities.

The incident came to light after the guest, identified as Delhi resident Anurag Yadav, refused to clear the final charges incurred during his stay with his wife and two children. The family had utilized extensive hotel facilities, including dining services, between August 14 and August 23.

Investigating officers noted that the booking was initially placed on August 12 by Maker Baha Travel Agency. Upon being presented with the final invoice, Yadav claimed the booking agency was responsible for clearing the dues. However, the agency denied any agreement to cover the family’s room and service expenses.

“Prima facie, the case appeared to involve an alleged fraud in which the tourist and travel agency may have acted in collusion,” declared Sub-Inspector Ajayraj Singh of the Ambamata police station, confirming that a detailed probe has been initiated to verify the claims.

The complaint was officially submitted by Ravindra Singh, the liaison manager of the resort. Police confirmed that statements from all involved parties, including hotel representatives, the agency, and the family, are being processed to determine legal accountability.
