Chandigarh, 13 November 2024: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a revised schedule for the special summary revision of electoral rolls for four Punjab constituencies: 10-Dera Baba Nanak, 44-Chabbewal, 84-Giddarbaha, and 103-Barnala.
According to an official spokesperson, the eligibility date for the updated voter list has been set as January 1, 2025. The preparation of electoral rolls will take place from November 25 to November 26, 2024, with the publication scheduled for November 27, 2024.
The filing of claims and objections regarding the voter list will be open from November 27 to December 12, 2024, providing a 15-day window for stakeholders. Special campaigns will be held on November 30 (Saturday) and December 8 (Sunday) to facilitate the process.
The disposal of claims and objections is set for completion by December 24, 2024. Following this, scrutiny and approval by the Commission, along with database updates and printing of supplements, will be finalized by January 1, 2025.
The final publication of the updated voter list will be made available on January 6, 2025. This comprehensive schedule aims to ensure accuracy and inclusiveness in the electoral process ahead of upcoming elections in the affected constituencies.
