Shimla, 30 November 2024 – The Himachal Pradesh Education Department has banned vacations from December 11 to 21 due to the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha. The Directorate of Higher and Elementary Education issued orders on Friday, suspending proposed vacations and tours during the session beginning December 18.
Under the directive, officers and employees may also be called to work on Sundays and other holidays. The department has been instructed to ensure readiness to respond to assembly questions related to education.
Officials must prepare detailed answers and ensure their availability in the office by 8:30 am and beyond 5 pm during the period. At least one officer per branch must be present daily. Key personnel, including Additional Directors, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, principals of government colleges, and their staff, have been ordered to cancel all leave.
