Faridabad, Jan 23: A four-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her father in Faridabad’s Jharsentali village after she failed to write numbers up to 50 during a home tutoring session. The local police arrested the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Krishna Jaiswal, and produced him before a city court on Friday where he was remanded to one-day police custody.

The incident took place on January 21 while the suspect was supervising his daughter’s education at their rented accommodation. Jaiswal, who works night shifts at a private firm, was responsible for homeschooling the child during the day while his wife was at work. Investigators noted that the father lost his temper when the child struggled with her counting lessons, leading to the fatal assault.

The matter came to light later that evening when the mother returned from her shift to find the child unresponsive. She immediately alerted the authorities, prompting a team from the Sector-58 police station to arrive at the scene and take custody of the body. Jaiswal, originally from Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh, had been residing in the village with his family for employment.

Police officials confirmed that a formal First Information Report was registered following the mother’s complaint. The body was shifted for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death before being released to the family for final rites.

Faridabad police spokesperson Yashpal said the suspect admitted to the crime during the initial phase of the investigation.

“We have arrested the accused, who confessed to the murder of his daughter. We handed over the body to kin after the postmortem and are questioning the accused after taking him on police remand,” the spokesperson said.
