New Delhi, 18 November 2024: Winter intensifies across India, impacting transportation and prompting school schedule changes. In Bihar, 17 trains are running late as dense fog reduces visibility, also delaying the takeoff and landing of six flights.
Cold winds are sweeping through Madhya Pradesh, prompting several private schools in Bhopal to extend their start times by 30 minutes. Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior-Ujjain are also expected to adjust school timings. The Meteorological Department predicts a drop in temperature in Madhya Pradesh from November 20.
Despite this, temperatures in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal are forecasted to remain 2 degrees above normal on Monday. Delhi recorded a low of 11.8 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest in the country.
Snowfall hit parts of Kashmir and Ladakh on Sunday evening and Monday morning, temporarily closing the Srinagar-Kargil road.
