Chandigarh, May 26 — Singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has partnered with BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh to back a major awareness campaign aimed at addressing the drug crisis in Punjab.

During an interaction at Chugh’s office on Tuesday, the artist noted that substance abuse has severely impacted families and communities across the state. The joint initiative aims to utilize public outreach and music to steer vulnerable youth away from narcotics, particularly heroin or ‘Chitta’.

“Drugs are ruining families and youth in Punjab,” Honey Singh stated during the discussion. “Punjab must be saved from this.”

Chugh declared that the artist’s personal journey of recovery and return to the music industry serves as a powerful testament to rehabilitation. The political leader stated that the state’s traditional identity, rooted in vibrant cultural values and agricultural abundance, can be reclaimed through collective social efforts.

“If Honey Singh can come out of that swamp, every child of Punjab can come out,” Chugh asserted, urging young people to seek recovery. “If Honey Singh can come back, then children, you can also become Honey Singh.”

The campaign plans to deploy community messages across the region to promote wellness and discourage narcotic addiction. Chugh maintained that the movement is focused on helping the younger demographic build a stable future while reconnecting with the historical traditions of the land.
