CHANDIGARH, Oct. 10, 2024: K.A.P. Sinha, an IAS officer of the 1992 Punjab cadre, assumed office as the 43rd Chief Secretary of Punjab on Thursday.
The ceremony took place at the Punjab Civil Secretariat in the presence of senior civil officers.
Along with his new role, Sinha will retain additional charges as Principal Secretary Personnel, General Administration, and Vigilance.
In his first address as Chief Secretary, Sinha expressed his gratitude for the love and respect he has received throughout his career while serving in various capacities. “It is now time to give back and fulfill this honor by serving the people of Punjab diligently,” he said, committing to work for the state’s welfare.
Sinha also noted that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government will continue to deliver clean and transparent services to the people of Punjab, with a focus on the state’s overall development.
He assured that pro-people schemes will be implemented more effectively at the grassroots level.
