Kanauri Border, 9 January 2025: A farmer lost his life in a tragic accident involving a wood-burning traditional geyser at the Khanauri Morcha.
The farmer, identified as Gurdial Singh, son of Sulakhan Singh from Samana, had been part of the prolonged protest for farmers’ demands at the site, according to reports.
The accident occurred as the farmer became engulfed in flames, leading to his untimely death. This incident adds to the growing concerns about safety at protest sites.
Earlier, another tragic event unfolded at the Khanauri border when farmer Resham Singh consumed sulfas poison. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed during treatment.
