Mohali/Moga, Feb 16: National convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema are set to lead the Aam Aadmi Party’s mega rally in Moga on Monday while Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann continues his recovery at a private facility in Mohali. The Chief Minister was admitted to the hospital Sunday evening after experiencing health complications during his visit to Sangrur.
Medical professionals at the Mohali hospital stated that the Chief Minister is currently undergoing comprehensive clinical assessments and standard diagnostic investigations following reports of high blood pressure and general uneasiness. A statement from the medical team affirmed that his vital parameters are stable and he remains under observation for supportive care.
The gathering at Killi Chahla village is expected to draw over 50,000 attendees. Party legislators and local organizers have spent the preceding days mobilizing residents, with a specific focus on members of the newly established Village Defence Committees. The event serves as a platform for the administration to review its ongoing initiatives against illicit substances in the region.
“The government remains committed to its primary objectives for the welfare of Punjab,” Harpal Cheema declared during the preparations.
The Chief Minister’s medical emergency surfaced while he was attending Shivratri functions in Sangrur alongside Kejriwal. After his health deteriorated, he was flown to Chandigarh, necessitating the cancellation of scheduled visits to Fazilka.
This absence occurs as the party evaluates significant internal structural changes. Discussions regarding a potential Cabinet reshuffle and the appointment of two Deputy Chief Ministers are currently on the table. Following the public event, senior leader Manish Sisodia is expected to address party MLAs and halqa incharges in a closed-door meeting to discuss these upcoming political developments.
