Mohali, 26 January 2025: A dispute between Wave Society’s president and vice-president in Sector 88 turned violent late Thursday when Khushpreet Kaur, the president, allegedly attacked vice-president Inderjeet Kaur with a knife, police confirmed.
The altercation adhered on the society’s first floor, reportedly during a heated argument over management issues and unresolved tensions, said residents aware of the matter.
According to reports, Khushpreet, enraged during the exchange, retrieved a knife from the kitchen and attacked Inderjeet, leaving her with serious facial injuries.
Efforts by a security guard and other residents to de-escalate the situation failed.
Inderjeet was rushed to the civil hospital in Phase 6 and later filed a complaint at the Sohana police station.
Police have registered a case of attempted murder against Khushpreet.
“No arrests have been made so far as the investigation is ongoing,” said Station House Officer Simran.
Both women have been questioned, and police are examining the scene and gathering further evidence.
