Bilaspur, November 10, 2024: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) team from Kullu apprehended a smuggler with a major consignment of hashish during a blockade in Narli, Bilaspur district.
According to reports, the team recovered 5 kg 787 grams of hashish from the suspect traveling in a Punjab-registered taxi.
The operation was led by Chief Constable Rajesh Thakur, with Constables Sandeep Kumar and Ajay Kumar assisting.
According to the police, the arrested individual, identified as Jeevan Singh (41), a resident of Bhutti Bhalyani in Kullu, had hired the taxi for a trip from Kullu to Chandigarh.
A case has been registered against Jeevan Singh under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Swarghat police station.
Kullu Deputy Superintendent of Police Hemraj Verma confirmed the arrest, stating that the investigation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the seized hashish.
The interrogation of the accused is ongoing to gather more details about the drug trafficking network involved, he added.
