Mann Slams ‘Communal’ Rivals

BATHINDA, Jan 11 – Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday accused opposition parties of using communal politics to divide Punjab, claiming the BJP, Congress, and SAD are in a state of “panic” over AAP’s governance.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a new ₹9 crore district library in Bathinda, the CM said opposition parties have no agenda other than targeting him. He specifically took aim at the BJP, alleging they survive on hatred.

“The BJP seeks to inflame Punjab for political gain, but Punjab’s brotherhood is too strong to be broken,” Mann said.

Addressing a controversial video involving AAP leader Atishi, Mann dismissed allegations of remarks against Guru Tegh Bahadur as “malicious” and “tampered with.” He claimed the clip was circulated out of BJP’s frustration, stating, “Not a word against the Guru was spoken on record.”

The CM also touched on the missing ‘saroops’ of Guru Granth Sahib, clarifying that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is focused on the disappearance of the saroops themselves, rather than just financial discrepancies.

On the administrative front, Mann visited with students at the new library facility, which features Wi-Fi and 20 computer stations. He noted that the state is focused on youth employment to prevent brain drain.

“We want Punjab’s children to stop wandering overseas and serve their own state,” he added.
