Shimla: A Nepalese couple has been charged with stealing jewelry and other valuables from a family after serving them food laced with intoxicants, according to police reports.
The suspects, identified as Krishan and his wife Isha, were employed in an apple orchard in Chiwa village.
Police stated that the couple allegedly poisoned the food prepared for the family members and their caretaker as part of a calculated plan.
After the caretaker and two women from the family lost consciousness, the couple reportedly took gold ornaments and other valuables from the house before fleeing the scene.
Authorities are currently conducting raids to locate the couple, who are on the run.
