Panchkula, June 10: In a major move to modernize Panchkula’s urban infrastructure and governance, the Haryana government has approved the establishment of an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC). This advanced facility is designed to streamline public service delivery, facilitate real-time monitoring, and enhance emergency response capabilities across the city.
The project, estimated to cost ₹208.92 crore, received sanction during the third meeting of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA), held on Sunday. The meeting was chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The ICCC, envisioned as the digital nerve center of Panchkula, is slated for completion within a nine-month timeframe. Its primary function will be to integrate multiple city operations, thereby improving responsiveness and overall efficiency.
The center will leverage smart technologies to enhance various civic functions, including traffic management, public safety, waste management, and civic engagement.
Prior to this approval, city management in Panchkula relied on fragmented and manual systems, with individual departments operating in isolation. Traffic monitoring, for instance, was largely dependent on on-ground personnel, often leading to enforcement delays and insufficient coverage. The new ICCC aims to address these inefficiencies by centralizing and digitizing these critical urban functions.
