Patiala, November 19, 2024: Patiala MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli has launched development projects worth ₹2.5 crore to improve the city’s infrastructure with the projects including drainage pipeline installation, road construction, and street renovations across various localities.
Kohli personally inspected the city on a scooter alongside Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajat Oberoi, assessing issues faced by residents. He emphasized the Punjab government’s commitment to restarting long-delayed works to ease hardships for Patiala’s citizens.
The initiatives include a ₹94 lakh drainage pipeline project on Puri Road near Arya Samaj Chowk and ₹68 lakh worth of street construction in Gher Sodhis and Bagichi Mangal Das.
Moreover, street work and UPVC pipeline installations near Jatwala Chowntra and Sirhindi Bazar have begun at a cost of ₹44 lakh, while CC flooring and roadwork in Sadar Bazar and Samsher Singh Mohalla are being undertaken for ₹37 lakh.
Kohli criticized the previous government for neglecting Patiala’s infrastructure needs and accentuated the ongoing allocation of ₹25 crore for parks, streets, and major roads under the current administration’s development plan.
